Schoolboy Q may be rooting for Kendrick Lamar to win the VMA for Best Hip-Hop Video, but he is humble enough to acknowledge when someone has bested his partner's work. Kendrick is up against Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Can't Hold Us," J. Cole's "Power Trip," Drake's "Started From The Bottom," and A$AP Rocky's "F*ckin Problems," and while Schoolboy felt as though Kendrick's "Swimming Pools (Drank)" video was dope, he believes Macklemore outdid him in that category.
He spoke to MTV's Rap Fix Live about why he thinks Macklemore should win over Kendrick.
"Of course I'm rooting for Kendrick, but Macklemore probably should win. I'm pretty sure Kendrick believes that too. We appreciate good stuff, and that video was crazy. I appreciate what Macklemore did with that video. I liked it better than Kendrick's."
