Nicki Minaj went off on rapper and old friend Ransom when asked about his claims to have ghostwritten her songs in the past, and now Ransom is saying the whole thing is one big misunderstanding.

TMZ caught up with the rapper in NYC last night, and he was none too happy with AllHipHop.com, the gossip site that started the whole mess, accusing it of intentionally taking his "Man Alone" lyrics out of context to stir up some drama. "Before Nicki was wearing those crazy wigs, I was doing verses for her, just hoping she made it big," he raps on the song.

"What I meant was, she used to call me to get on her songs," Ransom says. "I meant that we did verses together. I did verses for her records."

When asked if he had seen the video of Nicki going off on him, Ransom responded that he found it too "disrespectful" to watch. "I think she should apologize," he added.

Ransom also took to Twitter to clear up the situation, telling Nicki, "As you can see I never said that You supposed to pull a real ni**a up Instead you trying to keep me down I always helped you."
