Amanda Bynes has been held in a psychiatric hospital for over a week now, and she won't be getting out anytime soon. Amanda appeared before a judge recently, and argued that they had no basis for holding her against her will for two more weeks.
Since being admitted to the hospital, Amanda has been doing quite a bit better. Doctors have her on a cocktail of medications and believe she is schizophrenic.
As a result of these findings, the judge wound up agreeing with the doctors' request for extended observation, and ordered Bynes to say there for another two weeks. Since she still isn't acknowledging that she has an illness, there's a risk that she won't take her meds when released.
Hopefully she can come out a better woman.
