Math Hoffa is known by fans and battle rappers alike for his history coming from the street life, rather than just being a person who raps about it to create a false image of himself to impress his fan base.  His infamous fight with J. Dose during their first battle years ago was a preview of how real he can be when it comes down to heated situations, as all it took for Math to let his fists fly was the brim of Dose's hat touching his nose.  Math has also been rumored of being involved in a physical altercation with Murda Mook, during which he allegedly struck Mook with an object. Both of these situations are often rapped about during his battles.

For many, Math swinging on Dose was an example of how a real man who's down with that "street life" should react when someone invades your space, while others felt it was a sucker move.  Regardless of how you may perceive Math, the fact remains that he came from the bottom and rose to become a skilled battle rapper who is now famous around the world.  It is because of his tough roots and his "bully" demeanor which has been demonstrated in the past that he is often tested by his battle peers whenever he is in the ring.

Despite getting his space violated by Shotgun Suge and Daylyt during his recent battles with them, Math showed maturity and remained poised and professional, withholding the urge to possibly start a physical confrontation like he would have done in the past.  Even though the content that he raps about in his battles is still aggressive and combative in nature, Math has shown noticeable changes in his character throughout the years.  He doesn't try to maintain a hard demeanor anymore, and probably smiles the most out of any battle rapper.

Math has gone from living a life of street fights and robberies to become a true professional and skilled practitioner of his craft.  This year alone, he's refocused his battle efforts and amped them up exponentially.  He's already battled at least 8 times in 2013.  Math's expanded his business mindset and collaborated numerous times with VladTV, and was featured as the main event vs T-Rex on the first ever Killaz Battle League card.  He (along with Rex), was the first career battle rapper in history to be featured on Hot 97 as well.  Math also expanded his international fame when he made his debut on the KOTD and Don't Flop battles leagues.

On top of everything, Math is a proud father, and has made the necessary corrections to his life for the sake of his children to ensure that he will raise them to the best of his ability.  He recently took to Twitter to explain his life's story and the changes he's made for the sake of his kids.  Math's love of fatherhood is the reason his fans get to enjoy his flourishing battle career.  Things could've easily gone the other way.
