According to reports from TMZ, Miguel was actually ordered not to attempt the dangerous crowd jump at the Billboard Awards. He apparently asked the producers for permission prior to rehearsals to attempt the crowd jump during his performance, but the idea was shot down, as the producers felt it was far too dangerous.
But as it happened, Miguel disregarded the producers' warnings and attempted the jump anyway, which resulted in one of the most epic fails of 2013. In a leap seen around the world, Miguel landed a ferocious drop kick on one woman and completely landed on another, Khyati Shah. Ms. Shah will potentially be filing a lawsuit after reports have surfaced that she suffered brain damage as a result of the impact.
Miguel has yet to comment on the situation.
