That very trip went for $1.5 million in a charity auction this past week, which will help to benefit AIDS research. The man who bought the trip will undergo a rigorous three days of training with DiCaprio before the two blast off into the cosmos.
The winning bidder also bought a $517,000 gold and diamond necklace in the auction, so evidently his pockets aren't hurting at all from that space trip. Hey, at least trips to space are becoming easier and easier to make.
