Hip-hop lost an icon when Heavy D unexpectedly passed away in November 2011, but the pain was surely deeper for his 13-year-old daughter Xea. Now, it has been reported that the girl will inherit Heavy's entire estate including his pension, social security, and future royalties.
Heavy's brother Floyd is seeking control of his entire estate, and their mother Eulahlee Myers told TMZ that the entire family is behind the decision. They believe that Floyd will protect the fortune until Xea is an adult.
"Heavy's Estate needs to be managed. It cannot be self-managed or self-administered and it has to be Court approved. Open bills, unfinished business, taxes and day-to-day decisions including future plans for his daughter all need to be done. This management needs someone who is capable, smart, honest and close to this family."
She added, "The family all wanted Floyd as that person to represent Dwight's estate."
Eulahlee assured that everything would be going to Xea when she was old enough, "All of Heavy's assets are going to his 13-year-old Daughter Xea -- including his Social Security, Pension, and future Royalties. All of Heavy's personal belongings are in storage for his Daughter until she gets a bit older."
