A 46-year-old Papa John's delivery man named Ramon Rodriguez was busted by undercover police officers on Wednesday evening, May 15th, for selling a kilo of cocaine to the officer for $27,000. He's been investigated for his drug trafficking activity since 2011 and has allegedly made 19 cocaine sales to undercover officers between 2011-2013, according to authorities.
His sales took place primarily in the Sunset Park area on Fifth Avenue and 58th street while Mr. Rodriguez would still be in his uniform. He often hid the packages of coke in the actual pizza boxes or the insulated bag used to transport the pizza pies.
After his home was searched police found $4,500 in cash, a scale, packaging materials for the drugs, and actual drug paraphernalia. He's being charged for criminal sale and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
