At a recent funeral in Zimbabwe, where mourners grieved over the death of 34-year-old Brighton Dama Zanthe, the man did what only happens in horror movies--he sat up in his coffin.
According to local sources, the man woke up as his loved ones passed by to pay their respects in his Gweru home.
"I was the first to notice Mr Zanthe's moving legs as I was in the queue to view his body. At first I could not believe my eyes but later realized that there was indeed some movements on the body as other mourners retreated in disbelief," said Lot Gaka, one of the mourners and Zanthe's employer.
The man was put on life support for two days following, and eventually made a complete recovery.
Bodies emerging with life from coffins is apparently not too uncommon in Zimbabwe. Earlier in the year, a woman did the exact same thing, after it was believed she died during sex.
