Magic Johnson recently became the latest celebrity victim of the rampant trend known as swatting, in which an unknown caller contacts 911 claiming that there is some type of hostage situation going on at the respective celeb's home.
In the past, cops have responded with SWAT teams, helicopters, and hostage negotiators. However, it would seem the LAPD has figured out how to determing a swatting prank from a real emergency.
Only a few patrol cars responded to Johnson's home and quickly determined it to be another false alarm.
