While Kobe Bryant looked happy as could be at a charity event on Thursday night, behind closed doors he is battling a serious legal issue with his mother over ownership of prized memorabilia. According to TMZ, Kobe's mother Pamela is attempting to sell a boatload of his prized memorabilia, which she claims he outright gave to her, in order to buy a new home.

Pam has reportedly sealed a deal with Goldin Auctions to sell off such prized items as a 2000 All Star game signed ball, game and practice jerseys from his days at Lower Merion High School, a Lakers jacket and shorts, trophies, his varsity high school letters and more very valuable items. Altogether the items are worth enough money for Pam to get a $450,000 advance from Goldin.

Despite Pam claiming that Kobe gave her the items outright 5 years ago, he claims that he's the owner of the items and is trying to stop the auction. Goldin Auctions has now gone to court, and have named Kobe as the defendant as they try to make Pam the owner of the goods.

There has been no date set for a decision on the auction firm's request.
