Due to the recent racially charged presidential election, recent polls and census data revealed that the amount of black voters who participated in the 2012 election surpassed the total number of white voters and any other minority groups in the history of presidential elections. The data showed that if the amount of black voters who came out to support Barack Obama last November fell back and settled for the same amount of voting support they displayed in 2004, then Barack Obama would've lost a narrow electoral battle to Republican Mitt Romney. These conclusions stemmed from an analysis conducted for The Associated Press.
Black and white individuals still have proven to be the two largest racial groups to participate in the voting process, and will remain as the two largest racial groups of eligible voters for the next ten years.
