Justin Timberlake's third studio LP has become the most popular new album of the year. "The 20/20 Experience" nearly sold one million copies in its first week, and Nielson reported today, on behalf of Spotify, that the Timbaland-produced album came very close to breaking a record for the highly popular streaming service.
"The 20/20 Experience" garnered 7,730,000 streams in its first week on Spotify. That number is second only to Mumford & Sons' 2012 album, "Babel," which achieved 8 million streams.
The album did set a different record on Spotify, however. Each of the LP's 10 songs were streamed over 500,000 times; a feat which has never been achieved. "Suit & Tie" led all songs last week.
