Man Catches 25 Year Bid In Slim Dunkin Murder Case

Brick Squad affiliated rapper Slim Dunkin was shot to death outside an Atlanta recording studio in December 2011, because of what was said to be an argument over a piece of candy. Earlier today, the man accused of doing the killing, Vinson Hardimon, was sentenced to 25 years in jail--but not for murdering Dunkin.
Hardimon was acquitted of murder and felony murder, but was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a handgun during the commission of a felony. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Craig Schwall called Hardimon "dangerous," and pointed to a prior gun-related incident involving Hardimon only 8 months prior to Dunkin's death.
Dunkin's father, Mark Hamilton, believes Hardimon should have been charged with the murder, but he's now enjoying some closure.
"I'm disappointed with that verdict," said Hamilton. "I don't know what the jury saw. In the end, he got 25 years and we can have some closure."
