C-Murder, New Orleans rapper and younger brother of Master P, has gone through years of appeals in an attempt to avoid serving life in prison, but it looks like his quest is at its end.

Corey Miller, which is his government name, will have to serve the rest of his life in a Louisiana prison for the 2002 murder of a 16-year-old named Steve Thomas.

In Miller's appeal, the jury's verdict came back 10-2 in favor of conviction. Louisiana and Oregon are unique in that they are the only two states to allow non-unanimous verdicts to warrant convictions for certain crimes.

Miller's lawyers attempted to persuade the high court that "constitutional law requires federal juries to reach unanimous verdicts in criminal cases" but they were unsuccessful.
