In 1988, Michael Q. Touchstone was tragically stricken with acute meningitis and died at the age of 3. When father Lional Campbell inquired into the status of the child in 2011, Wayne County, Michigan's child support administration claimed it was their first time hearing of the toddler's death.

Apparently, Campbell thought he was paying for his older son who is now 34.

Campbell traveled from Kentucky to Michigan to prove his son's death. After acknowledging their error, Wayne County officials hit Campbell with a bill for $43,000 in surcharges. They later audited their books and realized he actually only owed $6,460.08.
