Kenneth Faried of the Denver Nuggets, is an athlete who was raised by two mothers, so the topic of LGBT equality is one that is very personal to him.  He's linked up with an organization called, Athele Ally, that is focused on fighting against homophobia in sports, and he has become the first official NBA player to join the organization.  He released a statement about what this new union with Athlete Ally means for the future of the LGBT community in sports.

"Becoming an Athlete Ally gives me the opportunity to spread a message of inclusiveness throughout the NBA and out country. I have two moms and I love them both very much. I respected, honor, and support them in every way. The bond I have with them has made me realize that I want all members of the LGBT community-- whether they are parents, players, coaches or fans-- to feel welcome in the NBA and in all of our communities."
