Kimye recently sent the TSA scrambling at JFK airport in New York City after they bypassed a security checkpoint on their way to a connecting flight.
TSA spokewoman Lisa Farbstein says the couple had arrived on an international flight from Brazil and where transferring to a flight to Los Angeles when the incident occurred. She says after clearing customs and baggage, they were escorted by an airline employee "through a non-public area in order to provide expedited access to their domestic flight." Farbstein says this violated security protocols by bypassing the TSA checkpoint, which prompted TSA officials to conduct a private screening of the celebrity couple.
"TSA officials learned of the violation and conducted a private screening of the two passengers in the area of the jetway. The passengers were cleared to board their flight, which departed after a delay of approximately 50 minutes. TSA is actively investigating the incident."
The TSA says it was the employee, not Kim and Kanye, who was to blame.
