35-year-old Sarah Berry is suing Delilah's in Philly after severing her thumb on a apparatus she was using for a competition at the club in July 2011. A lawsuit filed by Sarah reveals that she was practicing on a crescent shaped bar suspended from the ceiling sliced her thumb, which required surgery.
She is now suing for more than $50,000, claiming the club failed to ensure that the equipment was properly designed, built, inspected and tested.
Sarah's attorney, James D. Golkow, claims his client wasn't a professional dancer, but entered the contest by the suggestion of a friend.
