After Pope Benedict XVI revealed that he would be retiring from the church because he's too old to carry out his duties, it's been speculated that Cardinal Peter Turkson, an African American priest from Ghana, may be the next in line. TMZ recently caught up to Common and asked his thoughts about the possibility of a first black pope.
Common replied that electing a black pope would be a "beautiful thing," adding "I think the world is getting more open to not judging people by color. We're all equal."

black, white, asian...doesn't fucking matter what race. God is no respecter of persons including the "Pope". For those that do actually believe in God we can pray to God directly not thru mediation of one person. We don't pray to a Pope who can't do shit for our sins nor look towards one for some sort of "spiritual" direction or guidance. Pope's of the world are no better than anyone else. We're ALL sinners. God is all anyone needs. Damn a pope in general. They breathe the same air as me and bleed like I do so there nothing to them that make any of them more special than anyone.
