A man wearing made up as Heath Ledger's Joker character in "The Dark Knight" was arrested for drunkenly harassing Applebee's customers at a location in western New York, police said.

24-year-old Aaron Chase sat at the bar a a Chautauqua County Applebee's on Sunday, drunk and without money, and bothered people around him. Chase refused to leave when asked, and authorities charged the man with trespassing and issued an appearance ticket.

Chase had already been ejected from a bar up the street for making gun gestures towards the bartender, according to local news station WIVB.

"People get a little uptight and nervous," bar owner Tim Ruch told WIVB, "You don't see this everyday." Chase has shown up in his establishment dressed up like the Joker before, Ruch said.

The man was taken to a local hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, according to the Jamestown Post Journal.

"We take any call of this nature very seriously," said Sgt. Paul Gustafson of LBPD told the paper, "especially in a situation where a person dresses up in this manner."
