Chicago Teen Who Performed At Inaugural Event Gunned Down

15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton was gunned down in the South Side Park neighborhood of Chicago on Tuesday night, just one week after performing at an inaugural event for President Obama. According to several reports, Hadiya and friends were standing under a canopy out of the rain when a man jumped a fence and opened fire on the group.
Hadiya was shot in the back during the melee, and was pronounced dead at a city hospital. The shooter fled the scene in a car and no arrests have been made. Police do not believe Hadiya was the intended target in the shooting.
Hadiya was a student at the King College Prep High School, where she was a member of the band, which performed at several inaugural events in Washington D.C.

They need to start giving football numbers 30 to 40 years to people caught with illegal or unregistered weapons. So long that gang member might not consider it. 5 or 10 years is not enough to stop this violence in chicago. Why do you think crack dealers arnt as common anymore? They giving football numbers and its not worth it. Same should go for guns owned illegally

Why is'nt a that young blacks are being killed in these ghetto street's folks mainly blacks. We got work to to do but its starts with you and me. I bet 95% of the killings going on in chi town are blacks killing other blacks...why are all the worst neighborhoods in america all black people? ever wonder that? and at the end of the day they always try to blame the white man...there are no white people in the ghettos where yall are all killing each other, then their 'idols' glorify killing each other in their music and wonder why...shit will never change
