Cyhi the Prynce Talks Getting "Ordained" By Jay-Z & Kanye

G.O.O.D. Music rapper Cyhi the Prynce has contributed greatly to Kanye West's recent music catalog, including the deeply complex "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" and the Jay-Z collaborative "Watch the Throne," but has yet to release his debut. Cyhi is ready to drop his fifth mixtape on January 29th, and explained to Hip Hop Wired that he's just excited to be part of the mix.

"Even with the president [Obama]. Y'all see him come out and give the speech but a lot of people had something to do with it. Like, 'Say it this way,' or 'Give it this feeling,' so yeah, that's just with every artist. Not just with [Kanye]. There are a lot of people in the room that give off energy- smoke some weed, drink some liquor and vibe out, you know?"

Cyhi also spoke about a defining moment in his career, which involved Jay-Z and Kanye.

"Me getting ordained by Jay-Z and Kanye. When I got my first Jesus piece, they were both in the room and they both presented it to me. To be a part of the family is just like a dream come true. A lot of people don't know that I was there [at The Mercer] for the recording of the whole Throne [LP]."

That's definitely a story for the ages.

Let me explain to you what will happen to CyHi and guys like him. Guys like him get into the music industry right, and follow me here. They make really good moves on their own, and if they just continue hustling on their own and saving themselves for the right label situation or deal? They might get to the point where they are actually releasing product, doing big shows, and making money. (KEYWORD MIGHT) But instead they take a regular deal with a dude who has name recognition like Jay-Z or Kanye, they get put on the shelf, never come out and after all that big talk and celebrating on the record deal? They start saying shit like "I'm just glad to be part of the process, and have the experience" Honestly when you are in meetings with Kanye, Jay-Z, roll with the crew but have NO MONEY? It doesn't work. You're dead weight to them until you start making money. Long story very short, guys like this always end up getting cut off late in their career, then they get on website or low budget reality shows talking about who screwed, them why they did, and how they did. I'm not saying CyHi is like that, but instead of actually putting out an album all he's doing is riding Kanye's wave. He put out mixtapes which is cool, but I don't hear anyone talking about him like he's good. Who is his fanbase? See my point? The only burn he gets comes from Kanye. I hope the dude has a day job, because if he doesn't he's wasting his time instagram stuntin with dudes he'll never share a tax bracket with.
