Timbaland has filed a lawsuit against his insurance company over a nearly 2 million dollar watch that went missing a couple of years ago. The suit claims the insurance company is refusing to pay him a claim for the watch.
According to the lawsuit, the producer claims he paid over $50,000 to take out a policy with American Home Assurance Company back in May 2010. The policy covered several pricey items, including his Jacob & Co. 18k white gold watch, dripping with over 30 carats of diamonds.
Timbaland says he lost the watch in August of 2010 and filed a claim with AHA, which included testifying under oath that the watch was missing, but the company denied his claim.
In the suit, he says he believes it was his 2-year-old daughter who "picked [the watch] up and played with it until she became bored and discarded it somewhere."
He's suing for the value of the watch plus interest and attorneys' fees.
