Its really about who and ho much is invested in artist from NYC today. you see before it was all about good music and you putting in work creating a buzz from the underground local college radio shows to small clubs and festivals in the hood building up to a name and the label would also do that for you as a artist development, now you have to do all that on your own and then if you lucky you get a major label to help you push further with them promoting you and investing the right way. That is not the case now specially that the eyes are now down south its like fast food vs fine cuisine you gonna have more fast food spots because its cheaper and easy to make artificial vs natural, yall with me? now do not get me wrong NYC has some of the greatest lyrical MC's and business savvy the only thing is having the funds to work the project to get it where it needs to be and most labels and big companies want to do little to help you and get big results. Another thing is this who in NYC or the Hip-Hop community owns their own mainstream radio station and or commercial TV Network? NONE that is my point then you got JAY-Z, 50 CENT, P-Diddy the most successful in Hip-Hop business wise and what are they doing to get NYC back ?They promote themselves and yeah get some South Artist but where is the NY Unity ??? None so all you so called money spenders and makers should put your money up if you trying to see NYC on top again, its a money game not about talent anymore so wake up open your eyes and if you connected then make some power moves for NYC to get back on top, the Mecca of fashion, music and Hip hop Culture! NYC Baby

If you listen to anyone of the guys with the exception of Nas none of em sould like you typical New York artist they all make music that appeal to all regions of the country not a big french montanna fan but he also makes music everyone can appreciate untill the other New york rapper understand this oone simple fact and stop focusing on lyrics and "real hiphop" new York will continue to stay behind when it comes to hip hop times has change you have to change with it I'm frome the south and listen to all the rappers not because their "real hihop" but because the make good music
