The controversial "Django Unchained" action figures have been taken off the shelves after African American groups called for them to be boycotted for "trivializing slavery." Al Sharpton's National Action Network and Project Islamic Hope were both involved in the effort to stop production of the figures, which caught the attention of the Weinstein Company, which produced the film.

The toy company agreed with Weinstein and took the toys from the shelves, telling TMZ they never intended to offend anyone. The toymakers had released nearly 1,000 of the figures before shutting everything down.
