Manti Te'o, star football player who led the Notre Dame to the BCS championship game this year, revealed that he was tricked into an internet relationship with a woman named Lennay Kekua. Te'o made headlines when he told the world that Lennay had died of leukemia around the same time his grandmother died, tugging at everyone's heartstrings.
Now, it seems that the whole thing was a hoax, and the story keeps getting more confusing as time goes on. Like, Manti answering questions about his supposed deceased girlfriend when he knew the whole thing was a hoax. It was also revealed that Manti had never even met the woman, leading many to question what was actually going on with the whole situation.
In light of the event the internet struck back with a new trend called Te'oing, which show guys with their own imaginary girlfriends.
