Mac Miller Settles $10 Mil Lawsuit With Lord Finesse

Lord Finesse opened up a $10 million lawsuit against Mac Miller due to Miller using a sample of his "Hip 2 Da Game" song which Finesse made back in 1995. Miller put the sampled track on his "Kool Aid and Frozen Piece" project. According to HipHopDX, Miller and Finesse managed to settle the case in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge Henry B. Pitman of the Southern District of New York back on December 6th, 2012.
The specific financial amount of the settlement has not been revealed.

You guys are missing the point. Mac didn't give proper attribution to Finesse. The older jazz and r and b musicians did that to the rappers, so what goes around comes around. Good job Finesse.

I do not know the whole story I just know alot of dudes now making these mixtapes some are selling them some are not so its really about if you making money off the sample you used and never split the publishing even and talk with the artist before hand. If you do not make money off of the sample then why have to pay like I said it all depends on the situation we do not know all the details. I know someone else used that beat in the past and even in the 90's just do not know the artist name and song title but for sure you play you got to pay if you got the bread though, Lord Finesse a vet rap artist producer and DJ he been doing his thing in the game for years you got to respect the old heads they paved the way to why you dress Hip-Hop and listen to it and want to be a rapper most of the time so respect the past and you get future respect.

I dont even fuck wit mac mill like that,but thatwas some dirty shit finesse rock wit lil dude and act like everything cool and then when u see lil man blowing up sue em for some $$$!Mac Mill didnt even make no $$ off that sample it was on a mixtape. I guess Finesse said shit he got more attention off it than I did when I put it out let me get what I shoulda made off him! LOL niggaz shiesty as a MF man .
