Steelers RB Chris Rainey Fired After Slapping Girlfriend

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Chris Rainey was booted from his spot on the roster after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend this morning in Florida, according to TMZ.
As we reported earlier, Rainey's girlfriend took his phone this morning in Gainesville, and the football player reacted by slapping her across the face. Chris was arrested and has been charged with battery. He remains in custody.
Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert had this to say:
"Chris Rainey's actions this morning were extremely disappointing. Under the circumstances and due to this conduct, Chris will no longer be a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers."
