As reality shows continue to take over cable television, the Oxygen Network figured they would capitalize on the trend as well. They've been shooting a one-hour special with Southern rapper Shawty Lo called "All My Babies' Mamas," which will showcase Shawty's crazy personal life. While this sounds outrageous and interesting to some, vothers believe it is playing on a stereotype that "demeans black men, women, and children."

Oxygen is defending its future show, and released a statement which reads, "Oxygen's one-hour special in development is not meant to be a stereotypical representation of everyday life for any one demographic or cross section of society. It is a look at one unique family and their complicated, intertwined life. Oxygen Media's diverse team of creative executives will continue developing the show with this point of view."

Considering the show is still in development, the criticism could drastically change the way Oxygen chooses to portray Lo's family, but for now the show is still set to air. Do you find the special offensive?
