It was recently decided in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit that flipping off police officers or giving them the middle finger cannot land you behind bars, or even leave you with a ticket of any sort.  The official ruling was that the "ancient gesture of insult is not the basis for a reasonable suspicion of a traffic violation or impending criminal activity."

This new rule might bring about some drama, as it might be hard for cops to stand constantly be given the middle finger without being able to do anything about it at all.
