Hines Ward Confirms Paternity, Cooperating Fully With Baby Mom

Back in 2011, a woman named Melanie Smith filed papers claiming that former Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward was the father of her child. Instead of making things difficult, Ward has complied fully; he submitted to a blood test and found out that he is indeed the father.
Ward even said that Smith is entitled to child support from him, and that he's already compensated her plenty already. The two are trying to work out plans for custody and support, as both parents would like to secure a place for their child's life.
It's always nice to see family issues worked out calmly and harmoniously.
