After a tenuous legal battle and plenty of support from the streets, it looks like Lil Boosie should be breathing free air by early February. After beating a first degree murder charge, Boosie still had to deal with a charge relating to his allegedly smuggling drugs into the prison. He originally pleaded guilty, but his legal team convinced a jury that he was set up, and that the plea was made under duress.
He was given the smuggling charge after accepting "syrup" from a police informant, but since Boosie has admitted to having substance abuse problems, the police's method was found to be illegitimate and unfair.
Congrats, Boosie.
