50 Cent Says NY Rappers Didn't Do Enough For Sandy Victims

Earlier in the month, 50 Cent took some time to help feed those who were affected by Hurricane Sandy and the destruction it left behind. 50 even has his own organization dedicated to worldwide hunger, but says those involved in Hip Hop in general could have done a lot more to help those in need. In an interview with The Source, 50 stated that there were several ways in which the more fortunate could have helped with Sandy victims.
"Yeah man. I wish I saw a little more out of the actual, Hip-Hop, particularly," he said.
"Yeah, within New York, period," 50 responded when asked if he thought Hip Hop could have done more. "We got a lot of artists, aspiring artists, people that could of, you know, actually loaned their time at least, not in finances, be involved in the actual projects. You know, I promote my association within America. This is the largest domestic organization against hunger, and that's what kinda led me to the food bank. And you know, the food network being associated with it made it cool, but it still, you gotta be conscious of it."
"Hunger is not a third world issue, it's a world issue. We got a problem with Hurricane Sandy, and we got too much water, how ironic is that when they dying because they don't have any water in Africa."

most rap artist are full of sh!t, they all about self thats why none of them really own anything they do have a lot of chains cars clothes but that don't mean anything if you do not own land and if you can not donate money then you aint sh!t seriously all that flossing in videos and spending money on liquor and women but can't help their city or community.

i must say 50 is becoming a current day leader in the game now..more folkz need to speak out a lil bit on a variety of things.because thats the trues essence of hip hop.not this bullshit strip-hop and down syndrome rap(yall disrepecting people the have down syndrome) sell a few lies to make a buck ass genre of music that most get confused with hip hop nowadays.

Amber is right about that park...but....in southside, there's a lot of g's who were put in a position of power to take care of their own and self-sustain and blew it.. Fif did his part for those who were in position...they dropped the ball. If u come home to 250k, a car and a crib, start up kit for the block, and 6 months later, the block is screwed, ur car is beat up, and ur losing ur home, ur an asshole. Fif did that for niggas. U feed me, I feed mines, they feed theirs....so what didn't he do for southside that these niggas is doing for their boro???? Don't worry, I'll wait. Puff is the king of harlem....yet people are losing the battle with APARTMENTS let alone homes. Has he used his political stature to put an end to rent increasing on our seniors??? No! There's still so much to do so help the people who are trying to help people. Just read about the assoc. for women contruction workers of america in jamaica, ny. they are helping train local men and women in construction, this will help rebuild and put people back to work. help them out or any local group like them wherever you live.

He said they could've volunteered, too. Volunteering just costs time. If its YOUR city you sould want to help. ....and one man can't single handedly kill the hip hop scene. Maybe music and times have changed and nobody wants to hear what rappers are talkin about. Me personally, I don't listen to hip hop much any more. There's not a good message in any of it. Can't let your kids just listen to everything

50 is right. When u have a dude who sells weed, donate his props from 2days, rappers coulda done way more. I'm in pa now and we packed. 4 buses headin to the Apple. Time volunteered. Put a chain up for auction French....put up a bentley Joe....Nas got involved....so what's really good. If u feel like fif killed careers and these cats shouldn't donate, ur entitled but that's the lamest excuse in this matter. Jimmy aint donate no clothes, Cam won't even tell if his neighbor was a rapist serial killer so we kno he aint donatin'. Even if they did, fif is still right....MORE could have been done.

Rappers ain't doing shit for no body unless it pushes their funkin agendas. They react--there's no business strategy no real jobs being created accept for the few. 50 is from se queens and more homes are being lost to foreclosures than Sandy and where the hell is he. Even Will i am reached out into 50 neighborhood to try to help 50 former neighbors, Where is 50 somewhere in Africa trying to help the hungry. Doesn't he know there are people starving right in his fuckin backyard. They say charity starts at home so apparently he's distanced himself from his own home. Guess he thinks a corner park on foch blvd is help, if I blinked I couldn't even see it...........all that big talk, hero shit...invest at home
and not just for thanksgiving or christmas.....
