Penn State Sorority Causes Uproar With Racist Photo

Penn State came under further scrutiny this year, as their Chi Omega chapter recently posted a photo from a Mexican-themed party, which many are deeming racist. In the photo, the girls are dressed in ponchos, sombreros and mustaches, but it's not what their wearing that's offensive.
Two of the women in the photo are holding up signs, reading "Will mow lawn for weed + beer" and "I don't cut grass I smoke it."
Soon after the photo was posted on the chapter's Facebook page it was brought to the attention of the public via a student blog at Penn State called Onward State. The chapter was highly criticized for their actions, which they quickly apologized for.
President of Chi Omega's Nu Gamma chapter Jessica Riccard, said "Our chapter of Chi Omega sincerely apologizes for portraying inappropriate and untrue stereotypes. The picture in question does not support any of Chi Omega's values or reflect what the organization aspires to be."
Despite apologizing for the incident there's still a chance that the girls in the photo will be suspended.
