Jay-Z Lists Five Great Aspects Of The Brooklyn Nets

Brooklyn rap mogul Jay-Z has played an integral part in the early success of the new Brooklyn Nets franchise of which he's a part owner. He's constantly seated courtside at home games and showing his continued support for his hometown team. In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, Jay spoke about the team in general and got around to naming five cool things about the Nets.

Hov began with the jerseys, pointing out that they have a vintage-type look, as he stated "All-black everything! And the lettering—the typography reminds you of the old subway. It's classic." He even spoke on the actual basketball court in the Barclays Center, saying "It's herringbone, which is crazy. In fact, the NBA fought me on it. They said if it gets shot on TV, the lines will mess up the screen. I'm like, this ain't 1988—we've got HD. We ended up taking it to the old arena in New Jersey to test it."

Jay also named the Barclays Center itself as one of the standout factors about the Brooklyn Nets. "It's beautiful, amazing, really well-done. It's just classy. It's still an arena, so there's only so much you can do. But for an arena, it's actually really beautiful." The borough of Brooklyn was sure to be one of the aspects added to Jay's short list: Well, Brooklyn is cool; that's like the definition. There's nothing on earth cooler than Brooklyn."

He finished off by naming himself, explaining "Me? Ha, I am Brooklyn."
