One of the blockbuster acquisitions of the 2012-2013 NBA season was point guard Steve Nash being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. There was a sign-and-trade deal in place, meaning Nash could choose any team he wanted, but the veteran player selected the Lakers, citing that he wanted to spend more time with his kids. However, TMZ is reporting that the NBA legend wants his kids to stay out of California.

Sources close to the matter say that Steve's ex-wife, Alejandra, wants to move from Arizona to California with their three kids, but reports say Nash disapproves of her plans and is taking legal action to stop Alejandra from making the move. Alejandra wasn't going to get into this issue alone, as TMZ say she hired one of L.A.'s biggest defense attorneys, Lance Spiegel.

It remains unclear as to why Steve Nash doesn't want his kids closet to him and no statement has been made on his behalf. His ex-wife's attorney provided a small comment on the matter.

"I can't comment on the information you attribute to sources connected with TMZ. I confirm that I have been retained by Alejandra, that I cannot comment because of the reasons described and that Alejandra is not available for comment."
