Legendary Boxer Hector Camacho Shot In Drive-By

Former world boxing champion Hector "Macho" Camacho remained in critical condition and on life-support Wednesday morning after he took a bullet to the face on Tuesday in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He was seated in the passenger side of a vehicle when he was shot, after which he was rushed to a trauma unit in San Juan. He suffered a heart attack shortly after arriving at the hospital.

According to reports, the bullet struck Camacho in the jaw but exited his head and ended up lodged in his right shoulder. The shooting resulted in two fractured vertebrae. 49-year-old Adrian Alberto Mojica Moreno, the driver of the vehicle, was killed during the attack.

Dr. Ernesto Torres gave a brief report on Camacho's condition, which wasn't the best to say the least.

"The situation with 'Macho' is very delicate. The prognosis is not good," he said. "We will maintain him in this way we are maintaining him medically, and we will wait to see how he responds. He is a strong guy. The prognosis could change if he improves. The neurosurgeons are not intervening further at this point."

Law enforcement says there have been no arrests made in conjunction with the shootings.
