It has been a tumultuous past couple of weeks for Kevin Clash, the voice of popular Sesame Street character Elmo, as the news of his relationship with another male has been heavily discussed in recent time. Another new development has emerged in the situation, as TMZ reports that Clash has agreed to pay his accuser, 23-year-old Sheldon Stephens, $125,000 on one condition: he wants Stephens to recant his story that he was a minor when they had sexual relations.

It's been reported that Stephens took back his initial claim that he was only 16-years-old at the time of the relationship with Clash after the two worked out a deal regarding a cash settlement. Clash agreed to fork over the $125,000, but the settlement also provided a catch:

"Stephens agrees that immediately upon execution of this Agreement, his counsel, Andreozzi & Associates, P.C., shall release the [following] statement: 'He [Stephens] wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship.'"

TMZ also says that Stephens was almost forced to sign the agreement and that he was in tears during the final negotiations of the settlement. Sources close to the situation say Stephens kept repeating that he did not want to sign the agreement.
