Surgeon Who Operated on Kanye's Mom Addresses Her Death

Donda West, mother of rap superstar Kanye West, tragically passed away back in 2007 due to complications from a number of plastic surgery procedures. Many felt the surgeon who performed the operations, Dr. Jan Adams, may have been at fault for the death. In a recent interview, Dr. Adams expressed his grief over her death but says he is not to blame.
"I feel responsible totally because I'm the surgeon and I'm the guy in charge but I'm not the guy to blame," he said.
When asked if he regrets operating on Kanye's mom, he responded by saying: "Not at all, not at all. I have no reservations whatsoever about that, I have no reservations about her surgery or anything like that. It's a tragedy that she's not here and she was a wonderful woman."
There was an investigation launched into the matter, but the L.A. coroner cleared him of any wrongdoing in the case. Dr. Adams also offered his opinion on how Ms. West died, saying he believes the cause of death was aspiration, the drawing of food and liquid into airways which can block breathing.
"What probably happened and unfortunate is that this lady, Ms. West, laid down, ate, hard narcotics on board, aspirated...her lungs got all this food in it and then minutes later she passed away," he explained.
He blamed the media for all the controversy that surrounded the death of Kanye's mom.
"They told the story wrong and as journalists, that's a violation of what journalists do."
Dr. Adams ultimately surrendered his medical license but is petitioning to get it back. He says he expects to have his license back within the next 30 days. He also says that he plans to continue plastic surgery and that he even has patients lined up who have called and asked for him specifically.
Dr. Adams has not spoken to Kanye West about this matter and says that he and the G.O.O.D. Music front man don't need to discuss it.
