After Mike Brown was fired from his head coaching position with the Los Angeles Lakers last week, there was great speculation as to who would become L.A.'s new coach. Legendary head coach Phil Jackson seemed to be a viable option, as it was reported that the organization was in talks with Phil about the position.

Former New York Knicks head coach Mike D'Antoni was another person said to be atop the Lakers' list, and although many were convinced that Phil would be making his third return to the sideline with L.A., he reportedly requested a ridiculous amount of money, so the Lakers decided to go another route and hire D'Antoni for the position.

D'Antoni, who will once again be coaching point guard Steve Nash, signed a 3-year deal with the Lakers. Not only does D'Antoni know Nash well, but he's very familiar with superstar Kobe Bryant which is already a step in the right direction for the struggling Lakers.

Let us know if you feel coach D'Antoni has what it takes to turn the Lakers' season around.
