Ice Cube Praises Kendrick Lamar's New Album: "It's Great"

Despite Shyne's criticism of Kendrick Lamar's new album, "good kid, m.A.A.d city", Ice Cube has had nothing but positive things to say about the work. Cube thinks Kendrick's album is great and what fans have been waiting for.

"It's great, man. It's great for true artists who are not people who are chasing the charts or worried about who's on the Billboard [charts]. You can respect an artist like that. We are like painters; you either do it because you love it or you do it 'cause you're trying to get rich. I think people can see that, and they reward true talent. When true talent steps on the scene, it should be rewarded, whether it's deep music that grips your soul or it's just booty-shaking music. If you're a true original, you should be recognized and applauded to reap the benefits more than these one-hitter-quitters that you see."

The album is good, but its not a classic. Do yal know what a classic in hip hop is or have yal even been alive long enough to see one? A classic is a literal game changer. Like the music is SO influential it doesnt matter what coast or country you live in, you will see the cd influence people in your neighborhood every where you go. Kendricks album is GOOD, but its far from a CLASSIC album. Cats are not gona be discussing the game change his cd made when it released...becuz its good...not classic. Dr. Dre the Chronic was a game changer/classic. Snoop Doggy Style was a game changer/ classic. Nas Illmatic was a game changer/classic, B.I.G Ready to Die was a game changer/Classic. Kendrick Lamar G.o.o.d Kid Mad city = Good Cd #Period

I'm east coast and even I know Kendrick's album is classic. Good music is good music and that album is quality through and through.
