Travie McCoy is a pretty easy pick for a hip-hop hipster because from the jump, he's been doing his own thing with hip-hop. With his tatts and ear gauges, he's far from the typical look of rappers in hip-hop today or in the past. McCoy started early in punk rock and transitioned into the singer and rapper of his band, Gym Class Heroes. The group achieved mainstream success and eventually Travie put out the solo project, Lazarus in 2010, with the hit Billionaire with Bruno Mars.
