During the week before the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets played in Week 8 of the NFL season, two stars from their respective teams shared some unkind words. The Dolphins' Reggie Bush, who did not play in the first meeting between the two teams, and Jets' cornerback Antonio Cromartie, exchanged words with one another and it didn't take long for both to clash on the field.
After Reggie Bush made an impressive run in the first quarter, Cromartie tackled him, then head-butted him after the whistle was blown. He was ultimately flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play.
After the game, in which the Jets lost, Cromartie revealed what he said to Bush during their confrontation.
"I didn't lose my composure," said Cromartie. "I just called him a punk, and that's exactly what he is."
Cromartie did 'fess up to his mistakes, simply adding "I gotta be smarter."
