Scottie Pippen has been in the middle of a defamation lawsuit, in which he sued several media outlets for reporting he was bankrupt in 2011. To prove he never had financial troubles, Pippen showed he'd never been worth less than $40 million at any point in the last decade. In the suit, he wanted $1 million from each media outlet that falsely reported his perceived financial woes.
Apparently, a judge didn't feel the same way as Pippen and dismissed the case, claiming the comments made were not deemed as defamation. So, Pippen was awarded no money, but he should be ok since he apparently has upwards of $40 million.
