Even national stars like Michael Phelps have heroes. Phelps recently sat down with David Feherty for a special version of his talk show "Feherty Live" and discussed who has inspired him most. Despite growing up in Baltimore and focusing exclusively on swimming, Phelps says Michael Jordan was his biggest hero.

Monday night, on "Feherty Live", as Phelps proclaimed his love for Michael Jordan, Feherty joked that the show could only afford a blow-up Jordan. Just as he said that, the real Jordan walked out and sat down next to a flabbergasted Phelps. In fact, Phelps could barely put together a coherent sentence while sitting next to the legend.

"He's the greatest," responded Phelps, when asked about why he loved Jordan so much. "I'm at a loss for words."

Phelps recently called his retirement from swimming "the best thing to ever happen," so don't expect to see him back in the competitive pool. But considering his love for Jordan, you never know.
