Former Hot Boy rapper B.G. released his first letter from jail since he was sentenced to 14 years for weapons possession and witness tampering. Though you'd expect B.G. to be down in the dumps, the rapper seems to be maintaining a positive perspective.

"I want everyone to kno that I truly appreciate all the love and prayers I have received over the past 15 months," wrote B.G. in the letter. "I can't begin to express how much I THANK ya'll for the support you've all been giving me throughout this whole situation, I've been going through. It's finally over, I kno my fate, I know what's in front of me, and I'm ready to tackle it HEAD ON. It's really a small thing to a Giant. And like my homie Scarface said, 'DAMN IT FEELS GOOD 2 BE A GANGSTA.'"

B. Gizzle has been through rough times with addiction, so it's encouraging to see him thinking as clearly as he sounds in this letter.

"They can lock up my body but they can't lock up my soul. I just been laying back writing handling this situation like a real n*gga should. I'm staying prayed up, keeping my head up," said B.G.

As far as the rap game goes, B.G. deserves ultimate respect. He knowingly received a harsh sentence because he refused to cooperate with police.

"Always remember it's DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR. Like I say DON'T RAT, DONT SNITCH, DON'T BEND, DON'T FOLD," proclaimed B.G. "To my street n*ggas if nobody TALKS, everybody WALKS. Remember that if you ever in a JAM. I'm signing off for now."
