Despite what past whispers and rumors may have claimed, Sean Paul denies that he and Jay-Z ever had any beef over the collaboration he did with Beyonce on "Baby Boy" back in 2003.  Rumors officially sparked that there was tension between Jay-Z and Sean Paul after Beyonce performed "Baby Boy" at the MTV VMAs alone on stage without Sean.

Sean never addressed the rumor because he said it was giving him a lot of publicity, so he just sat back and let the rumor brew. However, he firmly denied that he ever had issues with Jay-Z or Beyonce during a recent interview with RapFix Live.

"I was sitting in the crowd and I was like, 'damn what's that all about?' Paris Hilton and her sister were sitting behind me like, 'why ain't you up there?' I said, 'I don't know.' I was embarrassed and I was also upset. It did blow out of proportion as to all the rumors about Jay and the jealousy and all that. I don't know the reason for me not being on that stage while she was doing that song.

"The whole direction of the video was sold to me as, 'You're in a dream world.'  It was not a big deal to me, but it really blew up into crazy stuff.  That's a rumor that started. I've known Jay-Z from before I knew her.  The general public blew it up in certain things. I just remained quiet about it for years because it was doing its work. There was just a lot of controversy.  She's an amazing artist, the song was at #1 for like nine weeks, so that was a very special time for me and for dancehall.  I don't keep beef, dude. Anyone who wants to work with me, that's fine."
