Everyone knows Lupe Fiasco is a very independent thinker who generally refuses to bow to the norms of society just to be a part of the majority. Although he supports activist movements such as Occupy Wall Street, the rapper has opted out of the upcoming Presidential vote between President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.  Comedian/actor D.L. Hughley is a major supporter of Barack Obama, and has been very politically involved in spreading the word to influence people to vote for Obama in the upcoming election.

D.L. recently called out Lupe for his decision to publicly state that he will not be supporting the upcoming get out the vote, because D.L. feels as though Lupe's words may influence many others not to vote as well.  After D.L. criticized Lupe, Lupe fired back, and the the two began a politically influenced Twitter beef. This eventually lead to Lupe suggesting that he and D.L. should put their money together and start organizing programs on their own to benefit families suffering from poverty.
