Lupe Fiasco has shared his opinion on politics and the presidential election on several occasions. Whether in a song or interview, the Chicago rapper makes sure to get his point across especially when it comes to discussing President Barack Obama. Now, Lupe's rants have caught the attention of comedian D.L. Hughley, who expressed his dismay for Fiasco after stating that he wouldn't be voting.
"He's bright as hell, but dumb in the weight of the world. Young black men are going to listen to him," Hughley said of Lupe. "They are the ones who have decisions made for them, [decisions] that they are not even involved in, which is silly to me."
The comedic actor wasn't looking to totally put down Lupe, as he also had some words of advice for the artist.
"You can't go through life and not be a participant, and hope things work out for your benefit," he said. "When you vote or not vote, you are saying yes or no."
Hughley continued on by saying "They want to raise the age of social security from 65 to 68... Black men die at 67. Lupe Fiasco forgets that he's going to be an old man when he's looking for a social security check, and he dies right before he gets it!"
The comedian will be performing at the Comedy Connection in Chicopee, Massachusetts. He'll certainly focus on politics during his set; maybe he'll have something to say about Lupe as well. Let us know what you think of his comments.
